Commentary
And when He mentioned the Fire and preceded it because the purpose is for warning, He followed it with the abode of the righteous. He said, making them happy by relieving them of the burden of the journey and shortening the distance: "And brought near" meaning: it was made close in the easiest manner along with the ranks and the filled watering places. "Paradise is for the righteous" meaning: those deeply rooted in this description. When they see it, they will race towards it and leave what they were in of the standing on pulpits of light and mounds of musk and similar things. As for others from the people of faith, they may be in a different state, so those who were righteous will be driven to it as has been mentioned in Surah Az-Zumar.
And when closeness is a relative matter, He emphasized it by saying: "not far away" meaning: a nearness that cannot be described as distance.
