And when the custom is established that whoever is brought something hastens to address it with a saying or action, he connects with that which is its result. He begins with the disobedient; for the position is for him. He said what indicates that he has no weight, so there is no pause in his punishment by his account or otherwise. He is emphasizing a speech for the confirmed by the throwing or a speech for the driver and the witness, or the driver alone, dualizing for his pronoun, dualizing for the matter as if he said: 'Throw, throw,' emphasizing it and terrifying: ﴿Throw﴾ meaning: cast down without mercy. It is said: rather it is dual; and the origin of that is that the company is at least three. Thus, the speech of the one is directed to his companion. Do you not see that poets often say: 'O my companions, O my friends'? The secret in it, if the addressed is one, is to make him understand that he is intended for action with great seriousness, so that his strength in it is equivalent to the strength of two. ﴿In Hell﴾ meaning: the fire in which the one thrown therein is treated according to how he dealt with the servants of Allah with arrogance, frowning, hatred, and partisanship. And when the intended purpose is to justify his throwing with a description that encompasses others, so that it may be a kindness to whom Allah intends to protect from those who heard this saying and a proof against whom Allah intends to humiliate: ﴿Every disbeliever, obstinate﴾ meaning: one who is excessive in concealing the truth and opposing its people without proof, out of zeal and pride, considering the goodness of what he has and remaining steadfast upon it, being tyrannical and arrogant towards what others have, belittling it, whoever they may be.
