Commentary
And when the decree was made: that person was taken by force from among family and brothers, tribes and neighbors. He was joined to the army of the dead, who are in the Barzakh awaiting the arrival of the rest of them. They remained in this state until those who were coming to them had completed their arrival. He then turned to his words, clarifying the encompassing nature of the realm of the Kingdom and might: ﴿And it was blown﴾ meaning: with the slightest indication and easiest matter ﴿into the horn﴾, which is the trumpet that Israfil, peace be upon him, blows for the general death and the general resurrection at the time of completion and the cessation of the time for dealings. It is such that its magnitude and vastness are known only to Allah, the Most High. He, blessings and peace be upon him, took the horn from the time the Prophet was sent until he lowered his forehead and inclined his ear, waiting for when he would be commanded. What a great matter it is that we have been heedless of, and we have forgotten it, and we have been made safe from it, and what is meant by this is the blowing of resurrection.
And when that effect from the soul is the secret of existence, he indicated its greatness by saying: ﴿That﴾ meaning: the great time of tremendous horrors, earthquakes, and terrors ﴿is the Day of Warning﴾ meaning: the day on which what has been warned will occur.
