And when he clarified the state of the doers of good, he explained their matter and said, resuming in response to the one who asked about them and about their glad tidings: "Indeed, those who said, 'Our Lord'" meaning: our Creator, our Master, and the One who does good to us, "is Allah" glorified and exalted is He, and no one else. And when uprightness - which is steadfastness in all that pleases Allah - is rare to attain and of high rank, and it is generally not achieved except after long struggles and intense efforts, he indicated to each of its distance and high rank with the tool of delay and said: "Then" meaning: [after] their saying that which they affirmed His Oneness, "they were upright" (p-144) meaning: [they sought] the people with a great seeking and they found it.

And when the description was for the leaders of the believers, he counted their deeds as causes and informed about them by saying: "So there is no fear upon them" meaning: they are not overcome by the dominance of harm. And perhaps he [expresses] in [such] a manner by the name indicating that His awe, when viewed in light of His majesty, might, and greatness, does not cease, and a person attains through its presence humility, tranquility, dignity, and serenity, which increases in himself majesty, elevation, and perfection. Thus, what is negated is a fear that disturbs the soul. "And nor are they" in their innermost selves nor in their outward appearances "saddened" meaning: something of sadness does not renew for them at all.
