And as for those who disbelieved, it means: they concealed what their minds and original natures revealed to them of the truth that Allah commanded them with. Even if they performed all good deeds without faith, the Most Great King will admit them into His curse.

And when this concealment was a clear reason for their reproach, it was said: "Did not My messengers come to you?" And I created for you minds that guide you to the truth by reflecting on the visible signs and the miracles that they brought to you. And I sent down to you through them audible verses. Yet, "My verses were not such that they could be matched by anything that an impartial person would accept.

And when these verses necessitate faith due to their greatness merely by being recited, it is stated for the effect: "They are recited," meaning: their reading is continued by any reciter. So how about when it is through the messengers, a recitation that is exalted upon you, which you cannot raise anything from it with something that an impartial person would accept?
