Commentary
And when he made clear the false ones according to what the situation necessitated as previously mentioned, and indicated to the rightful ones, he made clear what he hinted at regarding the matter of the rightful ones and he included their opposites. He began with them on the path of detailed and confused exposition: "So as for those who believed" meaning: from the nations that are kneeling, "and did righteous deeds" as a confirmation of their claim of faith, "He will admit them" meaning: on that day which we mentioned its greatness and the severity of its terror, "their Lord" who has done good to them by granting success in the righteous and pleasing deeds that lead to "His mercy" meaning: His closeness and honoring them with great reward and good return. And the angels will say to them in honor: "Peace be upon you, O believers," and it indicated the greatness of mercy by His saying: "That" meaning: the high and exalted kindness, "is" [meaning] none other than "the victory."
And when the context was for their foolishness and the obscurity of things to them, Allah, the Exalted, said: "the Clear" which does not hide anything from anyone regarding its matter, because it is not mixed with any murkiness at all nor deficiency, unlike what was from its causes in this world, for indeed, although it was a victory, it was very hidden to those who are not certain.
