Commentary
And when that is from the nature of the day, terrifying, it encompasses in the terror with his saying, portraying his state: "And you will see" meaning: on that day "every nation" of the nations that are losing in it and the winning "kneeling" meaning: gathered, not mixed with others. And with that, it is a blessing upon the knees, out of fear and anticipation for what it may be commanded with, the sitting of the adversary before the judge, waiting for the decisive judgment and the necessary command, due to the severity of what appears to them from the terror of that day. And when it was as if it was said: they are in a state of readiness, he said: "every nation" (p-105) meaning: of those kneeling "will be called to its book" meaning: that which was revealed to it and which Allah commanded it with, and which the guardians have abrogated from its deeds to apply one of them to the other. So whoever's book agrees with what he was commanded from the book of his Lord will be saved, and whoever contradicts it will perish. And it is said to them at the time of the calling: "Today you will be recompensed" according to wisdom with the easiest matter "for what" meaning: the very thing "you were" with what is for you like the innate qualities "doing" meaning: persisting upon it, not turning away from it [from] good or evil.
