And when it was that glorified and exalted is He only accepts faith when it is possible to conceive of it, and that is if it is in the unseen, He did not respond to them by reviving their forefathers out of honor for this nation due to the nobility of its Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him; because His divine tradition has been established that whoever does not believe after the matter has been made clear by the creation of the proposed signs, He destroys him as He did with the past nations. So He elevated them from the sensory to the training on rational proofs, and He said, commanding him, blessings and peace be upon him, to respond with His saying, the Most High: "Say, Allah"; meaning: the One who encompasses everything in power, knowledge, and wisdom. "Gives you life"; meaning: He renews this with a renewal that cannot be counted, just as you are [in it] acknowledging the revival of bodies that He creates without having any origin in life. "Then He causes you to die"; by gathering your souls from your bodies, He extracts them from it, leaving not "anything" of it in any part of the body, and that is easy for Allah. So He is as He was before the revival, as you see, and whoever is capable of this manifestation in this manner of repetition, then in distinguishing what He has spread of the spirit at the time of its extraction from those visible limbs, it is a continuous habit. The report about him is that he gathers the creation after their death from those who are firmly truthful. For that reason, he said without emphasis: "Then He gathers you"; meaning: after the disintegration, He returns your souls to you as they were after a long period of sleep, ending "until the Day of Resurrection"; meaning: the greatest resurrection because it is general for all the creatures whom He caused to die.

And when this conclusive evidence was established, it produced His saying: "There is no doubt"; meaning: no doubt in any way regarding it, but it is known with certain and necessary knowledge. "But most of the people"; due to what they have of lowliness because of the desires and lusts that we have instilled in them, which have dominated the instinct of reason, they have been pushed down to the lowest of the low in the state of ignorance, and they have not risen [to the age of faith]. "They do not know"; meaning: no new knowledge is given to them due to their ignorance and the state of confusion and lowliness, from the peaks of reason to the depths of ignorance. They are standing with the sensory, and that does not appear to them along with what it has of manifestations for our power to become realized and our hidden name to be established just as it was established in the apparent for those whom We guided to the knowledge of that.
