Commentary
And when He, glorified and exalted is He, conveyed this limit of the previous statement regarding the powers of man, He said, translating it: ﴿This﴾ meaning: the revealed revelation. And when it was in the greatness of His statement and the removal of ambiguity from every ambiguous matter, whether small or great, such that nothing of obscurity could reach it, He made it the essence of insight, a collection gathered in the form of the utmost plural, just as He made it a spirit, and He said: ﴿Insights for the people﴾ meaning: those who are at the lowest ranks, He gives them insight into what harms them and what benefits them. So what do you think of those above them, from those who have believed, then those who will believe, and those above them?
And when He clarified what is for the people of lowliness, He clarified what is for the people of elevation, and He said, the Most High: ﴿And guidance﴾ meaning: a guide to every good, preventing every deviation, ﴿and mercy﴾ meaning: honor, success, and blessing ﴿for a people who are certain﴾ meaning: people in whom there is the strength to fulfill the reaching of established knowledge and the renewal of advancement in its degrees to what has no end whatsoever. And when the estimation was after this statement which left no ambiguity regarding the matter of reckoning by what was defined by the king, which necessitates [what belongs to Him] of greatness and wisdom to hold His servants accountable for the reward of the good-doer and the punishment of the wrongdoer: He informed these addressed ones - because they do not exceed being among the people or among those who are certain of these insights due to their good elevated instincts that raise them from the depths of animality to the pinnacle of humanity - that we distinguish between the wrongdoers, some of whom are allies of one another, and between the good-doers, of whom we are their allies. He, glorified and exalted is He, added to this His saying:
