And when He, glorified and exalted is He, presented in this surah what the Qur'an contains of blessings by what it includes of good tidings and warnings, and of gathering and separating, and reminded them of what they acknowledge, that He is the Creator of this universe, which necessitates their acknowledgment of His Oneness, which entails that He does what He wills of sending and descending, warning and raising, and other than that. He threatened them with what no one else can do, such as smoke and punishment, and He performed some of that. He reminded them of what they know of the news of those who have passed from the generations, and that despite all of this, they denied the resurrection. Then He mentioned what necessitates warning and good tidings - all of that in styles that reached every extent, and it overwhelmed all powers, along with what it has of brilliant meanings and radiant wonders that conquer. This resulted from His saying as a clarification for the surah: "Indeed, We have made it easy" meaning: We have made for it great ease and significant simplicity.

And when a person increases in eloquence and his rhetoric becomes greater, his speech becomes clearer, and his words sweeter, more coherent, more elegant, and more robust. And he, blessings and peace be upon him, was the most eloquent of people and the farthest from that which is forced. He added to it only by saying: "In your tongue" meaning: this clear Arabic, and they are Arabs who are impressed by eloquence. "So that they may remember" meaning: to be among those who see them and are familiar with their language, hoping that they will remember that this Qur'an is a witness (p-56) to its miraculous nature and the correctness of what is in it of Oneness and Prophethood and other than them from what has come to you and has been clarified to you. Otherwise, they would have been able, being the most eloquent of people, to oppose any part of it, and they would remember what they neglected about the fact that He is Mighty in destroying the tyrants, and that He is Wise in establishing the signs for His Prophets and supporting them with miracles. And from the fact that the great among them does not accept that anyone should insult his pride or that someone who has a judgment over him, while he is under his control, should oppress one another, and then not support the oppressed against his oppressor and take his hand so that the good-doer does not become equal to the wrongdoer. So when they remember that along with what they know of the power of the King, His pride, and His wisdom, they certainly know that there must be a resurrection to distinguish between the people of righteousness and corruption, and to separate between all of the servants. This resulted in His saying: "So wait" [Al-Dukhan: 59] meaning: what I hoped for you from their remembrance, which necessitates their guidance.
