Commentary
And when this is a matter that astonishes the mind, so it can hardly be imagined, He said, confirming it: "Thus" meaning: the matter is as we have mentioned, there is no doubt in it. And when that cannot be complete joy except with spouses, He said: "And We married them" meaning: We paired them as spouses are paired. And the intention here is not the contract; because it is an action that is transitive in itself and it does not occur in Paradise, because its benefit is permissibility, and Paradise is not a place of obligation regarding permissibility or prohibition. And He mentioned the manifestation of greatness as an indication of the completeness of honor: "with houris" meaning: [according to] the distribution of beautiful, pure companions with white garments. "wide-eyed" meaning: with wide eyes.
