Commentary
And when he indicated the description of what is for the inner self from the pleasure of sight and the attire of eating and drinking, he followed it with the clothing of the outward and what each one has of closeness, saying: ﴿They will wear﴾.
And when he described what he has prepared for them of clothing in Paradise, it indicated the abundance greatly with his saying: ﴿of fine silk﴾, which is what is thin of silk made into garments. And he added another type, saying: ﴿and thick brocade﴾, which is what is thick of it made into linings, and it was named so for the intensity of its sheen. And when the description of the companions was with what they have of the grasp that occupies each one of them from themselves and others, after what preceded in Az-Zukhruf in the verse of the friends, which informed of their being turned away, he described their opposites with what they have of the spreading along with gathering, saying: ﴿facing one another﴾, meaning: there is not among them anyone who turns away from the other, neither in sense nor in meaning. And he wished that each one of them faces the other, looking at him, and when they desire the women, the curtains will intervene between them.
