What you know of it in this world is that it is a tree with small leaves, foul; meaning it is intensely foul and bitter, from the Zaqm, meaning the severe morsel and the excessive bitterness. And Abdul Haqq said in his aware book: Zaqqum is a gray tree with small leaves, it has no thorns, foul, with knots like pipes, and it has a flower that the bees gather. The head of its leaves is very ugly, and it is a pasture, and its growth is in the plain. Ibn Burjan said: It is in the fire opposite the tree of Tuba in Paradise. They are compelled to eat it and to drink the ghislin, just as the people of this world are compelled to take in food.
