Commentary
And when it was as if it was said: We see that most of the oppressed die with bitter choking, defeated. And most of the oppressors go away victorious with their demands, pleased. So when will this truth be? He said in response to that, affirming the time of their denial: "Indeed, the Day of Judgment" is when the first and the last will be gathered from all those who are accountable. Everyone awaits it for the distinction between every deceiver. It does not leave out any type of it, to the extent that it distinguishes between what is disliked and what is loved, the abode of bliss and the pit of hell, and between the people of each of them by distinguishing the truthful from the falsehood with reward and punishment, and it is after resurrection from death. "Their appointed time" means: the time of gathering the creatures for judgment between them, which was set for them in eternity, and by which the books were revealed upon the tongues of the messengers. "All together"; no one from among those who have died from the jinn, humans, angels, and all animals will be absent from it.
