Commentary

And when he described the night of the revelation of this Qur'an with blessing, and informed that among its greatest blessings is the warning, the warning, although it was separated from the good tidings, is a great matter that necessitates the distinction between the good and the bad of deeds, leading to all good. This is evidenced by the fact that the followers of those blessed ones among the scholars, when faced with the matter of the scholar and the oppressor, they prioritize the matter of the oppressor due to what they fear from his warning, and they neglect the matter of the scholar even if the hope for his good tidings is great. He said, explaining its blessing after explaining the descent in it, and generalizing that it includes the blessings of preference: 'In it' means: the blessed night, whether we say it is the Night of Decree or the Night of Mid-Sha'ban originally or eventually. 'It is distinguished' means: it is spread, clarified, separated, and explained repeatedly. 'Every wise matter' means: the matter is well-established, and cannot be refuted in any way from all that is revealed in the books and others, and the provisions, lifespans, victory, defeat, abundance, drought, and others from all categories of incidents, and partially in their times and places. This is clarified to the angels from that night until a similar night of the coming year, and they find it the same, thus increasing their faith. Al-Baghawi, may Allah have mercy on him, said: Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with them, said: It is written from the Mother of the Book [on the Night of Decree] what will occur in the year of good and evil, provisions, and lifespans. He said: And Abu al-Duha narrated from him that Allah, the Exalted, decrees the decrees on the night of the middle of Sha'ban and delivers them to their owners on the Night of Decree. And Al-Kirmanī said: He delivers them to their owners and workers among the angels on the twenty-seventh night of the month of Ramadan.
