And when they claimed that the call of resurrection is not valid except if they witness someone from the dead whom they knew alive after his skin and bones have decayed, they caused their denial by addressing the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, and those who followed him: "So bring forth" meaning: O you who claim that we will be resurrected after death, indicating that they do not believe in that even if many of their kind among their people and followers believe it. "By our forefathers" meaning: because we know them and we know the fullness of their intellects, so we do not doubt that this is a resurrection for whoever has died, so that this may be a sign for us regarding resurrection. And they affirmed their denial by saying: "If you are truthful" meaning: if your truthfulness is established.
