And when this was a matter so great that it is hardly believable that it could be for anyone, it indicated its greatness and its occurrence for them by His saying: ﴿Thus﴾ meaning: the matter is as we have informed regarding their enjoyment, their being brought out, and their drowning, and that they left all that they were in, which did not avail them at all. So let no one be deceived by what We have tested them with from blessings, lest they be subjected to destruction as We subjected them. And when the context of the speech understood this drowning of all of them, He clarified it further by expressing the inheritance, the reality of which is taking from the dead without dispute. He said, adding to what has preceded, its estimation after the demonstrative pronoun: ﴿And We inherited it﴾ meaning: those great matters ﴿to a people﴾ meaning: people of strength in standing firm on what they attempt. And He confirmed that they are others by confirming the drowning with His saying: ﴿Others﴾. Ibn Burjan said, and he mentioned in Surah Al-Dhulah: 'and springs and treasures' in place of 'and crops' when the known thing from the crops is the harvest in the nearest term, He inherited their crops and their gardens and what is in them of a noble position to a people of the family of Pharaoh, for they were destroyed, and not the Children of Israel, for they had crossed the sea. And when their kingdom was firmly established in the holy land, it was connected to Egypt. So they inherited the land with its treasures, its wealth, its blessings, and its noble position. The end.
