Commentary
And when the worship of a servant of others without right is in the form of superiority over the owner of the servant, He said: "And do not be arrogant" meaning: do not act by your worship of the Children of Israel, the Prophet of Allah, the son of the Friend of Allah, in the manner of the arrogant over Allah, who has the sources of greatness and the seats of honor by the power of the word and all the attributes of perfection. For if you do that, His might will seize you and His greatness will destroy you.
And when the superiority of one who acts upon the servant over the owner of the servant cannot be established except after confirming that he owns him and that he does not like to act upon him, He explained that by saying, confirming for the purpose of [that] what he brought forth in order for them to deny it; for the departure from what has settled in the soul and what has been accustomed to is a great matter: "Indeed, I am bringing you" and it is valid that it could be a present participle or a present tense verb. And when their action is the action of the arrogant over the authority, He said: "With authority" meaning: a manifest and overpowering matter from their owner, which does not permit anyone to be superior over it. So how about being superior over one who is by His command "clear" meaning: evident in himself is his authority and manifesting that to others.
