Commentary
'Or We show you' while you are among them 'the punishment which We promised them.' This means of the punishment, and He expressed it with the word 'promise' to indicate good with its wording and evil with its style, so it encompasses. 'Indeed, We' by what you know of Our greatness, which you are the most knowledgeable of creation regarding, 'are capable over them' regarding both estimations. He affirmed with 'that' because their actions are the actions of one who denies His ability. Likewise, by bringing the pronoun of greatness and the form of causation. One of these two estimations has been preceded by the eternal knowledge that it will not occur. Thus, the verse is among the evidences of ability over the impossible for others, and there are many such evidences. And Allah has honored our Prophet Muhammad, blessings and peace be upon him, by not showing him anything he would dislike in his community until he passed away.
