And when he mentioned to them the evidence and warned them against taking it lightly, and it became clear that they would not cease from following tradition, he reminded them of their greatest forefather and the source of their pride, and the one most deserving of following for success in following the father in abandoning imitation or in imitating him if they must imitate due to his being the greatest of forefathers and being with evidence. He said, adding to what he intended to indicate for them to reflect upon and contemplate: 'Mention to them that: ﴿And when﴾ that is, and mention to them when ﴿he said﴾ their greatest forefather and the source of their pride, and the consensus on his love and the truth of his religion among them and among the People of the Book and others ﴿Ibrahim to his father﴾ without imitating him as you have imitated your forefathers.
