The pronoun in it refers to the warner. In the reading of Abu Ja'far: Even if I came to you with all the warnings, "with a clearer". That is, a matter greater in guidance and clearer in indication than what you have found. O you who follow the forefathers, as your saying implies that you follow them in the traces in the greatest of matters, which is the religion, in which loss is a loss of the soul. And you contradict them in worldly matters if you find a path clearer than their way, even with a simple matter. One of you boasts that he has attained from that which his father did not attain, and he has acquired more wealth than he has acquired. How short-sighted is such a view, and how poor is such a trade.

And when it was known that the warners said to them what they were commanded to say, the listener longed for their response to them. It was answered by saying: "They said". Confirming a rejection of what every rational person who heard this speech would conclude, that they would hasten to look for evidence and return to the straight path: "Indeed, we are with what you have been sent with". That is, O you who claim to be sent from any messenger it may be, even if what you claimed about the message were established, even if you came to us with what is clearer. "Disbelievers". That is, concealers of what has appeared of our effort, so that it does not appear to anyone, nor does any creature follow them in it.
