And when faith in the angels, who are the soldiers of the King, is one of the foundations of the religion, and faith in something, if it is not based on what that thing truly is, even in the slightest ways, is flawed. And He, glorified and exalted is He, informed that they described them in a way that is not true to their reality. They fell short in describing them as daughters, to the extent that they brought them down to the lowest level. They exceeded in worship to the point of elevating them beyond their true status. Thus, they deviated in both matters from clear reason, as indicated by what has been mentioned. Following this, they are also devoid of authentic transmission. He said, equating it to His saying, "Do they witness their creation?" [Al-Zukhruf: 19] This is a denial against them after another denial, resulting in the greatest disgrace. He shifted the statement away from the description of mercy, highlighting the manifestation of greatness, indicating that His judgment, whenever it appears, does not allow the listener except to stand before it and comply in every situation. Otherwise, the greatest punishment will befall him: "Or have We given them a Book?" (p-409) with what we have of greatness. "A Book," meaning a compilation of what they want to believe in their statements. "Before it," meaning the Qur'an, we informed them therein that we made them female and that we do not will except what is true that we are pleased with and command. "So they," meaning this provision caused them to be "holding fast to it alone," meaning they are establishing adherence to it and seeking to remain steadfast in the worship of others besides Allah. And that this is true because He did not hasten them with punishment, and in their description of the angels as female, and in other than that from all that they commit falsely. Denial necessitates the negation of what has been introduced to them from the provision of the Book, just as His witnessing their creation has been negated. This equivalence, which there is no doubt about for one who has insight in speech, indicates the correctness of the indication in "They have no knowledge of that" [Al-Zukhruf: 20], encompassing their claim of femininity in the angels.
