And when he informed them of their loss, he indicated it by what the context guided to in his estimation from my saying: 'So they turned away' - meaning: these Arabs - and they said: 'This was the original, but he said it as a warning regarding the description that necessitated their turning away: 'And those who disbelieved' - meaning: they concealed what their minds indicated to them of the truth - 'Do not listen' - meaning: anything of absolute hearing - 'to this Qur'an' specifically by indication, in order to avoid it from other ancient books like the Torah. Al-Qushayri said: Because it overwhelms hearts and steals minds, and everyone who listens to it inclines towards it.
