And when the mention of sin and what incited it necessitates a deficiency that undermines divinity, He clarified that it is the cause of anger. So He said: ﴿And that you﴾, meaning: the great matter in its ugliness. Then He explained it by saying: ﴿Your assumption﴾, meaning: the corrupt one, and He described it by saying: ﴿That which you assumed about your Lord﴾, meaning: that His kindness towards you is too great for Him not to know your state. Then He informed about it by saying: ﴿He caused you to perish﴾, meaning: it specifically causes your destruction. As for the sins of the limbs along with monotheism and glorification, their matter is easier. The result is that every assumption that is not permitted by the legislator leads to the ruin of its possessor.
And when the morning is the place of hope for joys, the worst of sorrows is that which occurs in it. He said: ﴿So you became﴾, meaning: because what you gave of blessings to save yourselves from destruction was the cause of your destruction ﴿of the losers﴾, meaning: those deeply entrenched in loss, judged to be in loss throughout that entire day. He portrayed it in the ugliest form, which is the morning. The meaning is that if your state becomes like that of one who has become such, there will be no time for profit to recover in it, unlike if that were to occur at night. For he would be waiting for the morning to strive for profit, and the Day of Resurrection is not a day after which one strives for profit. Therefore, it is appropriate for the believer that his state of solitude be the most awe-inspiring for Allah.
