Commentary
﴿In the boiling water﴾ means: the hot water that causes the faces to turn black, the bodies to be exposed, the souls to be punished, the bodies to burn, the hearts to be filled with worry, and the flesh to melt and be consumed. This is a compensation for their elevation of themselves by pulling them down with clear evidence in the burdens of worship, the bitterness of struggles, and the heat of confrontations.
And when he informed about their punishment with the hot water which is meant to constrict the breaths, weaken the powers, and lessen the hearts, he informed of what is above that and said: ﴿Then in the Fire﴾ meaning: its specific punishment ﴿they will be cast﴾ meaning: they will be thrown into it and it will be kindled with them, piled up and mounted as the oven is filled with wood - meaning: it is filled - and its fire rages. And as water is poured into the throat, they will fill it and it will be heated by them, and its blaze will intensify because they were in the world the fuel of sins, and the trials with them ignite and its fuel grows stronger, and its support stands firm, because they did not throw themselves into the fires of enjoining what is good and forbidding what is evil, and the contradictions of desires in the realms of commands and prohibitions, which are outwardly fires, but in reality are gardens.
