Commentary
Those who denied. He omitted the object as a reference to the generality of denial: by the Book, meaning: because of it in all its affairs that surpass limitation and greatness in every matter. As it is indicated by the tool of perfection that it is for its perfection as if there is no Book other than it. For whoever hears it is as if he has heard it from the Prophet, blessings and peace be upon him, due to its miraculous nature. So whoever denies a letter from it has denied all of Allah's Book.
And since denial of it is denial of all divine messages, He affirmed its greatness by that and by the addition to the manifestation of greatness, warning the deniers of its might, and reminding them that working with the Messenger is working with the One who sent him. Therefore, the speech turned to the name that encompasses the attributes of majesty and honor, as He, glorified and exalted is He, said: 'And by what We have sent.' Meaning: regarding what We have of greatness, 'by Our Messengers' from all nations and laws, whether by a Book or otherwise. It is such that the essence of His majesty and the greatness of His state cannot be comprehended. Therefore, it resulted in a threat to them in His saying, glorified and exalted is He: 'So they will soon know,' meaning: with a truthful warning that there is no falsehood in it, what will befall them from Our might.
