And when he came with the words of the weak, resembling the original, and an indication along with a depiction of the situation, for it is more decisive regarding the length of their dispute, as it is more intense in their suffering, the listener yearned for their response. He began the news about him in the past tense to affirm the reality of its occurrence, as a rebuttal that the weak might imagine from the arrogant that he has the strength to resist and the pride to refuse. So he said: "The ones who were arrogant said" [meaning]: due to the severity of what they are in. And when the followers had thought that the followed would suffice for them, they confirmed their report to them with what contradicts that, saying: "Indeed, we all" [meaning]: all of us will be in it [the Fire], each one will receive from the punishment according to what he deserves, whether you argue with us or leave off our argument, and your Lord does not wrong anyone. If we had the power over anything, we would have sufficed for ourselves, and if we had asked to be increased or decreased, we would not have been answered. For indeed, this is the abode of justice, so leave us and what we are in.

And when the decree of Allah, glorified and exalted is He, prevents what the criminal would do in this world, freeing himself and binding others with it, and their asking for enrichment is the asking of one whose judgment may be like that of the judges of the people of this world, they justified their response, affirming, saying: "Indeed, Allah" [meaning]: the One who encompasses the attributes of perfection, "has judged between the servants" [meaning]: with justice, so He admitted the people of Paradise to their abode, and the people of the Fire to their Fire, and no one can avail another anything.
