Commentary

And when the corruption of what Pharaoh said became evident and did not require clarification, the believer turned away from it explicitly. He hinted at what Allah narrated about him, that destruction was surrounding him, hinting in his saying, calling his people and appealing to them three times: the first in a general manner in the invitation, and the other two in a detailed manner. So Allah, exalted is He, said about him: "And the one who believed" [meaning]: indicating to the words of Pharaoh by turning away from him. He expressed it with an action to indicate that it is necessary for the least of the people of faith not to belittle himself from advising: "O my people" meaning: O those without whom I cannot stand, for I am not suspected in my advice to them. "Follow me" meaning: make it a duty for yourselves to follow me, for happiness is often found in what a person dislikes. "I will guide you to the way" (p-72) meaning: the path of "guidance" meaning: guidance, for it, despite its ease and vastness, leads to the intended goal. As for what Pharaoh said, claiming that it is the way of guidance, it leads only to loss, it is an insinuation against him similar to an explicit statement.
