(p-64) And when the outcome of what has passed regarding their condition in the matter of Musa, peace be upon him, is that he came to them with clear signs, and they doubted them, and he concluded with warning them of the punishment of this world and the Hereafter, he turned to their fathers' doubt in a similar matter. He said, clarifying that they are deserving of the punishment he warned them of, so that they may be grateful for Allah's blessing in delaying them, and beware of His wrath if they persist.
