Commentary
And when the sun of resurrection and the light of gathering shone from the horizons of this exhortation; for it is not permissible at all that a king would leave his servants to oppress one another without fairness among them, while we see most of creation dying oppressed by their oppressors, and broken by their rulers. It is known for certain that the death from which no one has ever been able to escape, nor can anyone escape, is merely a drive to the realm of presentation and the arena of recompense for the debt - as is the custom of kings when they are entrusted with those whom they command to bring before them for presentation to them, so that the manifestation of the attributes of might and justice, and the manifestations of generosity and virtue may appear. He said: "O my people." And when they were denying the resurrection, he emphasized by saying: "Indeed, I fear for you" and he expressed it with a tool of elevation, adding to the fear, saying: "upon you." And when he had previously referred to it as the meeting and the impending event, he recognized here that the creation in it are trembling and fearful, and that due to the multitude of the gathering, they call out and are called for elevation or degradation and other than that from the various matters, the totality of which indicates the appearance of might and the humiliation of creation due to what is shown to them of grandeur and greatness. He said: "On the day of calling," meaning its horrors and what occurs in it. The Mighty One, glorified is He, will call out with His saying: "Did I not enjoin upon you, O Children of Adam, that you not worship Satan?" [Yasin: 60] And they will respond: "Indeed, our Lord." And the angels will call out with a voice that is heard from afar as it is heard by those who are near: "O so-and-so, son of so-and-so, come forth to settle the dispute." And that servant will be called: "Indeed, we hear and obey." And the successful one will be called: "Indeed, excellent is the reward of the doers of good." And the unsuccessful one will be called: "Indeed, wretched is the return of the wrongdoers." And they will be called with happiness and misery: "Indeed, so-and-so has succeeded," "Indeed, so-and-so has failed." And the people of the Heights and the people of Paradise will call the people of the Fire, and the people of the Fire will call the people of Paradise. And all will be called when death is slaughtered, and every group will be called by their leader. And the angels will call out as they surround the two weights in orderly rows, arranged like the heavens in which they were engaged in glorification and sanctification. And the voices will rise with clamor, some of them in joy and some of them in woe and lamentation. And the tongues of the fires will call out: "Where are the tyrants? Where are the arrogant?" And Paradise will call out: "Where are those who strive for the pleasure of Allah and are patient?" So how great a day it is when the rebellious sinners will be humiliated, and the hearts of the broken will be honored for the sake of Allah. Ibn Abbas, may Allah be pleased with him, read in another narration with emphasis on the letter 'd' in calling out, indicating that it is a source of calling out from the camel that fled and ran away, and it is like His saying: "On the day a man will flee from his brother" [Abasa: 34]. And it has been previously mentioned regarding the omission of the letter 'ya' in the meeting and its affirmation, which can be understood by the perceptive.
