And when every one of the people claims that he does not deviate from the evidence, and every individual is commanded to reflect on the evidence, he is commanded to turn to Allah alone. This was a reason for the knowledge of all about the oneness that necessitates the belief in His complete power, which necessitates the belief in resurrection. Thus, it became a reason for their sincerity. So Allah, the Most High, said, causing it to happen: ﴿So invoke﴾ and He specified the greatest name to train the sincere on the manner of sincerity. He said: ﴿Allah﴾, meaning the One who is unique in attributes of perfection, a supplication of submission and worship after turning back and after reflecting on the evidence. ﴿Sincere to Him in religion﴾, meaning the actions upon which the reward occurs. So whoever believes in the reward and that his Lord is free of need and does not accept except what is pure, he strives to purify his deeds. He comes with them in the utmost purity, free from any possible contamination of clear or hidden polytheism, just as his object of worship is one without any trace of deficiency.

And when the opposition of the kind is severe to what it calls for from the contention that necessitates discord, which necessitates the desire for death, Allah, the Most High, said: ﴿And if the disbelievers hate﴾, meaning the supplication from you, ﴿the disbelievers﴾, meaning those who cover the lights of their minds. And sincerity is that the servants do for their Lord what He has done for them. They do not perform any action of command or prohibition except for His sake alone, without any intention for themselves to gain something of benefit or harm.
