Commentary
And when he repeated the advice regarding the orphans time after time; and concluded with the command of being gentle in speech; there was in the depiction of the impact on the soul something that is not found in others; he repeated the advice concerning them; due to their weakness; depicting their condition; clarifying that the known saying is the correct one that has no flaw in it; he said: ﴿And let them fear﴾; meaning: let them instill fear in the descendants of others; ﴿those﴾ and he mentioned a condition for them; it is deserving of instilling fear in their hearts; he said: ﴿If they leave﴾; meaning: they are close to leaving; due to death; or old age; and he depicted their state; and confirmed it; with his saying: ﴿after them﴾; meaning: after their death; or their incapacity, which is like their death; ﴿descendants﴾; meaning: children; from males; or females; ﴿weak﴾; meaning: due to their smallness; or otherwise; ﴿they fear for them﴾; meaning: the oppression of the oppressors; and when that conception caused in their souls their fear for the descendants of others; just as they fear for their own descendants; whether they are guardians; or protectors; or outsiders; and this fear perhaps led them in their intention to benefit themselves to oppression against others; he commanded what would preserve them on the straight path; with his saying: ﴿So let them be conscious of﴾; and he expressed with the greatest name; guiding to the presence of all of His greatness; he said: ﴿Allah﴾; meaning: let them be just in their affairs; so that Allah may appoint for them someone who is just with their descendants; otherwise, they are close to having someone who oppresses their descendants be set upon them; ﴿And let them say﴾; meaning: in that; and otherwise; ﴿a just word﴾; meaning: fairness; aiming for correctness; so that this apparent statement indicates the righteousness of what he has commanded from the unseen.
