Commentary
Then he indicated the greatness of what He has granted them; encouraging action towards what leads to it; by means of the distant tool; and he said: ﴿That is the favor﴾. And he increased in encouraging it by informing about this beginning with the Greatest Name; and he said: ﴿From Allah﴾.
And when the basis of preference is on knowledge; he said - building on what you estimate: "For what he knows of the correctness of their inner selves, which is necessary for the honor of their outward appearances -: ﴿And sufficient is Allah﴾; meaning: the One who has complete encompassing knowledge; ﴿All-Knowing﴾; He knows of the outward appearances; and the inner thoughts; what is deserving of preference for whom He has preferred over others.
