Commentary
And when it became clear to him that their refusal to accept his judgment and to confess their sin before him was a barrier preventing them from believing, he said - affirming his words with the utmost emphasis; with a strong oath to establish the content of it; and "no"; the negation of its opposite -: ﴿So, by your Lord﴾; meaning: the One who is good to you; ﴿they do not believe﴾; meaning: they possess this description; and they renew it; ﴿until they make you judge﴾; meaning: they make you a judge; ﴿in what has arisen﴾; meaning: mixed and differed; ﴿between them﴾; from the words of some of them to each other for dispute; until they were like the branches of a tree in intertwining and constriction.
And when submission to the judgment that contradicts desires is extremely difficult for the soul, he indicated it with a tool of relaxation; so he said: ﴿Then they will not find in themselves any discomfort﴾; meaning: a type of tightness; ﴿from what you have decreed﴾; meaning: upon them by it; and he affirmed their submission to themselves with the form of intensification; so he said: ﴿and they submit﴾; meaning: they establish profound submission for all that is for them from themselves; and others; to Allah; and His Messenger, blessings and peace be upon him, purely without any mixture of dislike; then he emphasized it further by saying: ﴿submission﴾; and it is authentic that the verse was revealed regarding Al-Zubair; and a dispute he had with one of the Ansar; so there is no attention to the one who said: it is "Hatib" - may Allah be pleased with him.
