And when He mentioned - glorified and exalted is He - some of what comes from them of contradictions; and they are not modest; nor do they fear; He said - informing about them; informing of what He will do with them -: ﴿Those﴾; meaning: the far ones from good; ﴿whom Allah knows﴾; meaning: the one who possesses the attributes of greatness; ﴿what is in their hearts﴾; meaning: of intense hatred for Islam; and its people; even if they strive to hide it from Him; then He caused - teaching what He will do with them; and informing that they do not harm except themselves - His saying: ﴿So turn away from them﴾; meaning: from their punishment; and from the fear of them; and from their reproach; because they are too few to be accounted for; ﴿And admonish them﴾; meaning: even if you think that this will not have an effect; because the hearts are in the hand of Allah - glorified and exalted is He - He shapes them as He wills; whenever He wills; ﴿And say to them about themselves﴾; meaning: because of it; and what explains their conditions; and clarifies their deficiencies from their virtues; or alone with them; for that is closer to softening them; ﴿A saying that is eloquent﴾; meaning: it should be of the utmost eloquence in its essence.
