Commentary
And when that brought them disgrace; he said: "Those are"; meaning: the ones far from the Divine Presence; "whom Allah has cursed"; meaning: He expelled them with all that He has of attributes of perfection; expulsion they are deserving of. And when their intention by this saying was to support the polytheists against them; and the implication was: "So they attained through that curse humiliation and degradation"; he followed it with his saying: "And whoever Allah curses"; meaning: the King who has all authority; from them and from others; "you will never find for him a supporter"; meaning: at any time whatsoever. And he repeated the expression with the greatest name; because the situation requires it; indicating the extremity of disbelief; which is the greatest of sins; by the extremity of wrath.
