Commentary
And when the inclination is burdensome for the one who commits it; he informed them that the reason for his statement regarding guidance; and his desire for repentance; is compassion for them; so he said: ﴿Allah intends﴾; meaning: He is the One who possesses majesty; and beauty; and all greatness; and perfection; ﴿to lighten for you﴾; meaning: to act in this statement; and these rulings; like one who intends that; so He removes from you the burdens that were upon those before you; which led to the inclination; and He permits for you some things; like the marriage of the female slave - as previously mentioned -; and He indicated the reason for that with the conjunction; because you were created weak; it is difficult for you to bear the weight; ﴿and mankind was created﴾; meaning: you are part of it; ﴿weak﴾; its foundation is need; for he cannot endure marriage; nor anything else from desires; nor can he perform any action except with support from Him - glorified and exalted is He.
