Commentary
Then he explained their drowning in misguidance by His leading them astray. This was due to their persistence in what the deficiency of the self calls to, which is injustice. He said - as a warning to them -: "Indeed, those who disbelieved"; meaning: they concealed what they had of the light of reason. "And they wronged"; meaning: they acted out of their envy like one walking in the darkness. By their turning away and leading others astray, "Allah was not"; meaning: by His majesty; "to forgive them"; meaning: for their injustice; "nor to guide them to a path"; meaning: for their wasting what He had given them of the light of reason; and their opposition.
