Commentary
And when He clarified - glorified and exalted is He - what He has prepared for them; He clarified what He has prepared for their opposites from the people of His obedience; by His saying: "And those who believe in Allah"; meaning: the One who has perfection and beauty; "and His messengers"; and when they gathered them in faith against what the people of disbelief did; He stated what He made understood; so He said: "And they did not differentiate"; meaning: in their belief; "between any of them"; meaning: they did not make any one of them upon the description of the significant division from his companion; by disbelieving in some and believing in some - as the wretched ones did -; and division necessitates two things; and "anyone"; is general in the singular; masculine; and feminine; and their dual; and their plural; and for this reason the expression is correct with it; meaning: between two; or a group; and as if it was chosen for exaggeration; for if the singular could have division in it; then belief in some without the others is disbelief; "Those are"; meaning: the high in rank; in the ranks of happiness.
And when the intention was to affirm their promise; and what is observed in it is mostly delay; He said: "Soon He will give them"; meaning: with what we have of greatness; with a promise that there is no contradiction in it; even if it is delayed; the intention is to realize it; not to realize its delay; but He came with the tool that has more letters; and is more relieving; because this context is for the people of pure faith; the comprehensive; for those who do not have any deeds; and for this reason He added the rewards to them; and concluded with forgiveness; so that despair does not occur for them; even if the duration is long; "Their rewards"; meaning: complete according to their intentions; and their deeds.
And when man is a place of deficiency He said: "And Allah is"; meaning: the One whom the describers cannot reach the essence of what He has of the attributes of perfection; "Forgiving"; for what He wants from the slips; "Merciful"; meaning: to whom He wants to make happy with the gardens.
