Commentary

﴿Mudhabbadhabīna﴾; that is: مُضْطَرِبِينَ; like something light that is suspended in the air; and truly: the one who sways between both sides with great swaying.

And since what has preceded indicates their faith at one time; and their disbelief at another; He said: ﴿Bayna dhālika﴾; that is: faith; and disbelief; and since faith indicates its people; and disbelief likewise; He said: ﴿Lā ilā﴾; that is: they do not find a way of escape to ﴿Hā’ulā’﴾; that is: the believers; ﴿Walā ilā Hā’ulā’﴾; that is: the disbelievers; and since the estimation is: 'because Allah has led them astray'; He based His saying on it: ﴿Wa man yuḍlil Allah﴾, that is: (p-443) the one who encompasses ability; the one who has complete knowledge; ﴿Falā tajida﴾; that is: originally; ﴿Lahu sabīla﴾; that is: a path to something he desires.
