Commentary
And when it was from the reform that the companionship should be in kindness, he mentioned its counterpart. He said: "And if they separate"; meaning: each of the two spouses separates from their partner. "Allah will enrich"; meaning: He who has the attributes of perfection. "Both"; meaning: of them; that is, He will make one of them rich; this one with a man, and that one with a woman, or with other than that from His kindness. And he clarified the source of this richness; he said: "from His bounty"; meaning: from the comprehensiveness of His power, and other than that from every attribute of perfection. And for the sake of further emphasis on establishing these meanings in the souls, to bring about avarice, he repeated His greatest name that encompasses all; he said: "And Allah was"; meaning: the Lord of glory and honor, eternally and forever. "All-Encompassing"; meaning: encompassing all things. "Wise"; meaning: placing things in their most appropriate positions.
