Commentary
And when He made clear the recompense of the wrongdoer; as a warning; He bestowed upon him the reward of the doer of good; as good news; and He said: ﴿And whoever does﴾; and He lightened (the Exalted) for His servants by saying: ﴿of the righteous﴾; and when He generalized by mentioning whoever explicitly stated what was necessitated; in His saying: ﴿whether male or female﴾; and He restricted that by His saying: ﴿and he﴾; meaning: while he is ﴿a believer﴾; so that his deeds may be based on the foundation of faith; ﴿then those﴾; meaning: of high rank; and He built the action of entering for the object in the reading of Ibn Kathir; and Abu Amr; and Abu Ja'far; and Abu Bakr; from Asim; and Rawh; from Ya'qub; and for the doer in the reading of others; because the intended meaning is the action itself; not that it is from a specific doer; and although the reading of the first ones is more beneficial: "they will be admitted"; meaning: Allah will admit them; ﴿to Paradise﴾; meaning: the described one; ﴿and they will not be wronged﴾; and He built the action for the unknown; because the intended meaning is the salvation from it; not by the condition of a specific doer; ﴿even to the weight of a speck﴾; meaning: Allah does not wrong the obedient among them by decreasing anything at all; nor the disobedient by increasing anything at all; and "the speck" is what is in the back of the seed from that very small hole; it is a metaphor for non-existence; and this is according to what people are accustomed to; otherwise, Allah (the Exalted) has the right to do as He wills; for indeed, His ownership and dominion are general; it cannot be imagined that there is any injustice from Him; however He acts.
