Commentary

And when the safe one is an example for him ﷺ and for his followers; and the other is for the opposers; and he - glorified and exalted is He - has established their ignorance; and the ignorant one has zeal; and a refusal of what is called to him from the truth; and partisanship:

And the ignorant ones are enemies to the people of knowledge.

So, there was for that a reflection on their matter; and what it leads to from the retreat of the followers; and the approval of harm; especially since they are more than the people of knowledge; leading to regret; and severe anxiety; so it was appropriate to say: What should he do? And it should not truly cause anxiety except for one who thinks that distress will last; He said (the Most High) - comforting; and consoling; and soothing; in the context of affirmation; alerting that whoever is anxious, his condition necessitates denying the cessation of affirmation -: "Indeed, You"; so he specified him ﷺ; because when the address is to the leader, it is more impactful for his followers; so every place that was for the followers and in which he ﷺ was specifically addressed without them; they are the ones truly addressed; in a more eloquent manner.

And when it was not possible for anyone from himself except non-existence; he said: "Dead"; meaning: now; because this is a necessary attribute; unlike "dead"; meaning: be like the dead before the washer; for you will soon be at rest from what you endure of their hardships; and returning to your Lord to reward you for your obedience to Him; "And indeed they"; meaning: all the servants; your followers and others; "are dead"; so what they are in of the disputes; and living and comfort is cut off.
