Commentary
And when he clarified that whoever worships idols is doomed; due to his departure from the realm of reason with audacity; and lack of planning; he clarified what is for their opposites; and he said - diverting the saying from the Greatest Name; to the description of benevolence; indicating the generosity of the pious; with what they have of sound reasoning; which necessitated their fear; along with the remembrance of benevolence; to indicate that their fear when remembering retribution is more appropriate -: ﴿But those who feared their Lord﴾; meaning: they placed a barrier between themselves and the wrath of the Benefactor towards them; in every movement and stillness; so they did nothing of that except with consideration that indicates to them His pleasure; ﴿For them are lofty chambers﴾; meaning: high places in Paradise; they will dwell in them in contrast to the shades of the disbelievers; and since the chambers are in a depth that satisfies the eyes; He did not say 'above them' as He said about the people of Hell; and He said: ﴿Above it are chambers﴾; meaning: of great height; and since it might be thought that the second layer is the sky; because the origin of the chamber is high; and for that reason the seventh sky was named 'chamber'; and that the chamber is like the shades of the Fire; having no depth; he said - affirming the truth; singular; as is the norm in describing the gathering of the multitude for what they comprehend -: ﴿Built﴾; and since the dwellings do not become pleasant except with water; and the flowing is more honorable and better; he said: ﴿Flowing from beneath them﴾; meaning: the chambers; from the lower layer; and the upper layer; without any disparity between the high and the low; because the ability is suitable for more than that; ﴿The rivers﴾.
And when he mentioned the Day of Resurrection; and what will occur in it; he clarified that it is a matter that must happen; by saying - returning the context to the Greatest Name; which cannot be imagined; with the presence of what He has of majesty; a promise -: ﴿The promise of Allah﴾; affirming the content of the sentence with the form of the noun (p-483) indicating the action; which is necessary to be implicit; and the addition to the Greatest Name; encompassing all attributes; then he followed that with a clarification of what must be from His promise; by saying - as a result -: ﴿Allah does not fail in His promise﴾; meaning: the Sovereign; who has no partner to prevent Him from anything He desires; and since the care for the time of the promise; and its place is only for the preservation of it; it is more eloquent than His care for Himself; he expressed it with 'the act of doing'; so he said: ﴿The appointment﴾; because there is no reason at all that would lead Him to failure.
