And when He specified - glorified is He - the good news for the doers of good; it was known that others have been judged to be in misery. And he - blessings and peace be upon him - due to what he was created with of immense mercy and increased compassion, was deserving of sorrow for those who turned away. The cause of his sorrow for them was his saying: "Is he who has deserved..." And he dropped the feminine 'ta' which indicates softness, to emphasize the prohibition against sorrow for them. "Upon him is the word of punishment"; by his refusal and his turning away, he was thus immersed in the Fire, which we decreed to be the recompense of the wicked; there is no possibility of saving him from it. Will you then save him from his turning away that has immersed him in the Fire? Then he indicated this which I have decreed by his saying - confirming with the repetition of the interrogative particle; due to the length of the speech; and to magnify the matter; and to emphasize the prohibition against attaching worry to them; due to what he has - blessings and peace be upon him - of a natural inclination of compassion and tenderness towards the servants of Allah: "Will you then save..." meaning: will you rescue; and prevent; and deliver; and he placed in the position of his pronoun his saying - as a testimony against him for what he deserves; and only Allah can free him from it: "Who is in the Fire"; firmly established in it; deeply immersed in its layers; and rooted; to the extent that it has surrounded him from every side. And the original was: Will you save one who has deserved punishment? So he brought forward the object and made it the essence of the speech; to strike the hearing; and to await the news about it; then he omitted its news to make it more terrifying; so that the soul may go in every direction in it; then he denied that the highest of creation would save him; so others would be even less likely; thus the speech became with that of a splendor; and a joy; and a terror; and a fright; that no human can match.
