Commentary
And when the eyes were looking towards the matter; whether he would do what he is commanded; and being bound to the leader to follow him; the greatest of the patient ones is he who struggles against himself until he frees his deeds from the hindrances; and protects them from the desires and obstacles; and safeguards them from laziness and distractions; he commanded him with that which encourages them in the struggle; and reveals to them the sweetness of patience; by saying: ﴿Say﴾; and when the leader is close to the king in such a way that it is thought that he would excuse him for much of what is commanded of others; he affirmed his saying: ﴿Indeed, I have been commanded﴾; and he built the action for that which its doer was not named; in glorification of the command that it was cut off and passed; in such a way that there remains no doubt in it; and he established the evidence in place of the doer to indicate that he is the mainstay; for urging adherence to it; his saying: ﴿To worship Allah﴾; meaning: the One to whom all creation is equal in relation to His grasp; and His exaltedness; and His greatness; because He is free of all things; ﴿Sincerely for Him is the religion﴾; meaning: the worship for which reward is hoped from Him.
