Commentary
And when the decree was: "I am knowledgeable of that"; he added to it his saying - in response to an oath -: ﴿And you will surely know﴾; meaning: you too; ﴿its news﴾; meaning: my truthfulness in all that I have informed you about it; and about it; from the great news; and in what he indicated by the beginning of these mentioned prophets in this surah with a caliphate; and their conclusion with a caliphate; that your honor will turn into humiliation; and your discord will turn into peace and harmony; and your multitude will turn into fewness; and that what I am in now leads me to the caliphate of Allah on His earth; and that the middle of my matter will become like the caliphate of the first in all of the Arabian Peninsula; which is the land of the greatest mosque; which is before the Al-Aqsa mosque; which is the place of his caliphate; then the matter of my caliphate will increase in all the lands; and it will continue; until it encompasses the earth in its length; and breadth; by the hand of his son Isa - peace be upon him - the conclusion of the great ones of my followers; and my supporters; and my allies; and he left the neighbor as a notification of the comprehensiveness of knowledge for the time of the future; so he said: ﴿After a while﴾; meaning: ambiguous to you; known to me in the world; when My servants prevail over you; and in the Hereafter absolutely; and they were only delayed to this time to convey the excuse to them; so that their arguments may be cut off; and their sins may cease which they deserve to be taken for; and they certainly - by Allah - knew that; then they regretted; whoever among them died; and whoever lived; before the passing of twenty years from the exaltation of His word; and the manifestation of His message; and the completion of His religion; and knowledge continued for them and for those after them with what He spread in it of sciences; and gathered in it of noble traditions; and manifested from what was promised in it until this time; and until everything perishable perishes; then they will be resurrected to the gardens; or the fires; this verse has established from the Quran being a reminder what the first verse in it has established; in the most complete manner; with the addition of the warning; so the latter connected to the former; and it was connected to it in the best connection; and most beautiful; and he looked at the beginning of "The Troops"; the greatest look; and most complete; so for Allah is the praise of this arrangement; for it is indeed brighter than the sun at noon; and more complete than the full moon; so glorified is He who revealed it; and beautified it; and detailed it; and preferred it; and honored it; and esteemed it; and Allah knows best.
