And when it has been established that for the people of obedience there is fruit and drink; and that what he described regarding the abode of the disobedient can only be punishment; and it was implied - without a doubt - that the heat will cause from the people of the Fire a flow of pus and other things; he said: ﴿This﴾; meaning: the punishment for the tyrants; ﴿So let them taste it﴾; then he explained it by saying: ﴿Hot water﴾; meaning: hot water; and he indicated by the conjunction 'and' to the presence of both descriptions; so he said: ﴿And a foul wound﴾; meaning: a great, extremely foul flow; cold; black; dark; severe in all of these attributes; from pus and similar things; and in the reading of the congregation - with the lightening - it is a noun; like 'the punishment' and 'the retribution'; from 'his eye flowed'; meaning: it flowed; and 'the thing became full'; meaning: it filled; and from it is 'the dark one'; referring to the moon; due to its fullness; and perfection; and in the reading of Hamzah, and Al-Kisai, and Hafs - with the emphasis - it is an adjective; like 'the baker' and 'the striker'; indicating the severity of its matter in all that it is used for in terms of flowing; and coldness; and blackness.
