Commentary
And when he mentioned their dwelling; and the ease of their entering; and described their state at that time; he said: ﴿reclining in it﴾; meaning: they have no concern other than pleasure; nor is there any burden upon them at all; and since the recliner's enjoyment cannot be complete unless he is served; it indicates their nobility by his saying: ﴿they will call for therein﴾; meaning: whenever they want; without any hindrance at all; nor any need to stand; or sit; which would prevent reclining; and since their eating is only for enjoyment; not to preserve the body from any affliction; he said: ﴿with abundant fruits﴾; thus he called all their foods 'fruits'; and since fruits are never tiresome; and drinks are only taken in sufficient amounts; he described them in a lesser degree; and said: ﴿and a drink﴾.
