Commentary
And when He completed - glorified and exalted is He - what He intended from mentioning these chosen ones - peace be upon them - whom He granted safety by their patience; and He granted safety to those who called upon them; so He made them - glorified and exalted is He - a cause for success; and He did not make them a cause for destruction; He said - affirming their honor; and the honor of what they were mentioned for; urging to continue remembering it; and reflecting upon it; and contemplating it; to act upon it; clarifying what they have in the Hereafter; based on what He mentioned of their deeds; and what is for those who deviated from their path; in detail -: "This"; meaning: what We recited to you of their matters; and the matters of others; "a reminder"; meaning: an honor in this world; and a sermon from the mention of the Qur'an, which is full of remembrance; then He turned to His saying: "Indeed, those who go astray from the path of Allah will have a severe punishment" [Sad: 26] what is for their opposites; so He said - affirming; in response to those who deny that among the disbelievers of the Arabs and others -: "And indeed"; and it is permissible - and it is better - that it be connected to "This"; and its meaning is: "This is a reminder for the patient; and for what their patience led them to in this world; and that they have what We have granted them of the righteous deeds, the essence of which is patience, as a good return"; but He made clear the description that led them to this destination; generalizing for all who follow them; urging to follow; so He said: "for the righteous"; meaning: all those who are firmly established in the description of righteousness; who adhere - due to their piety - to the straight path; "a good return"; meaning: a destination; and a place of return;.
